- Named as son of Abraham Tennison,
Source: Will of Abraham Tennison, Dec 1821, filed in Rutherford Co., TN "my sons Hiram and Archibald.."
This Hiram was created to hold the slot until the correct particulars of the Hiram named in his fathers will can be researched. Presented below.
A marriage in Rutherford Co.,TN may lead to a clue, an Abraham Tennison married Mildred Caraghan on 17 March 1824. Surety was Archilbold Tennison. The reason that this marriage should be considered is that one of Hiram's sisters, Elizabeth married Hugh Carnahan. It is possible that this son of Hiram Abraham, Sr. possibly names his last son after his own name, Hence the Hiram named in the senior's will could possibly be named Abraham Hiram, Jr. and while the senior was alive the junior used the name of Abraham during his younger years. Note that the senior Hiram Abraham dies the next year after this marriage.
The following is provided to help evaluate this family connection.
Letter from Hiram Carnahan to Jame Carnahan, March 10 (or 16th), 1832;
To James Carnhan and wife at Bradelville, Cannon County, Tennessee from nephew Hiram Carnahan in Old Mines. Washington County, Missouri. Mentions his mother, Aunt Nancy King, Uncle Solomon, Uncle Edmond Tennison, Uncle Arch, sisters Jane, and Mayay and brother John and Uncle Hiram
