    • John Washington Tennyson married after the family moved from Green Co., Ky to Lauderdale Co., AL. (1833) He was listed in the 1850 census as a Physician at the Lauderdale Factory. In 1860 census finds him in Pontotoc Co., MS. His last two children were listed as born in MS indicates a move between 1853 and 1856. John's older sister Nancy M Tennison had never married and was living with the family in the 1860 census.
      John W served with the Company F 17 Mississippi INF Confederacy as a Pvt.
      In 1882 John W applied for a medical license in the state of Mississippi . He stated that he had practice medicine for 41 years.
      Some researchers claim Kenneth L. Tennison b. 14 Jan 1862 Pontotoc Co., MS; and d. 1954 as a son of the doctor John Tennison. Kenneth was buried in Choctaw Co. MS at the Providence Baptist Church.
