- Information from Franklin Tennyson, 1991 via Tennyson surname board and 2003 exchange of emails.
James Tennison moved with his father Hiram Tennison and family to Tishomingo, MS. The 1840 census indicates that the family had migrated to MS before 1840
In 1860 census James Henry Tennison is married to Amanda Martin with children. He enlisted in the Civil War 19 Aug. 1861 in Luka, MS to join the 32 Infantry, Ro-Y.
The 1970 death certificate of his daughter Julia Ella Hettich list her father's name as "Henry" rather than James.
Note that there has been some confusion between this James Tennison family who moved to Tishomingo, MS. and the family of Ignatius Tennison' son John B. Tennison family which migrated to Pontotoc Co., MS ca 1834.
