Faye Davidson in her book "Tennis-Tennisson-Tennyson Genealogy" (p. 14) states that Sarah's husband was James Doxey, but gives no source for the first name of James.

Mary Louise Donnelly in her book "St. Mary's County, Maryland, Colonial Period Tenants and Owners of 'Beaverdam Manor' and Surrounding Manors" (p. 95) states that Sarah Tennison's husband was Levin Dorsey (son of John Dorsey and Ann Cooper), but she gives no source for her statement either. The Apr. 1748 St. Mary's Co., Md. will of Basil Cooper (probated May 1748) names Levin Dorsey, son of John Dorsey. Maryland Calendar of Wills, Vol. 9, p. 144.
Further research is needed, but at this time the claim of James Doxey as Sarah's husband seems the better of the two.
